Likewise it can be useful to use the iterator if you want to treat (say) the first item differently to the rest:

Recently I saw a tutorial of spawning objects using C# in Unity. In that the teacher used a function like this

So, what does this have to do with yield? Under the hood, any method that contains a yield statement is converted into a class that implements IEnumerator. So suppose I have the following method:

The enumerator does not have exclusive access to the collection; therefore, enumerating through a collection is intrinsically derece a thread-safe procedure. Even when a collection is synchronized, other threads sevimli still modify the collection, which causes the enumerator to throw an exception.

If MoveNext passes the end of the collection, the enumerator is positioned after the last element in the collection and MoveNext returns false. When the enumerator is at this position, subsequent calls to MoveNext also return false. If the last call to MoveNext returned false, Current is undefined.

However, none of this should be needed because it's unusual to have an IEnumerator that doesn't come with an IEnumerable that returns an instance of it from its GetEnumerator method.

(This isn’t exactly what it looks like, I’m skipping some details and simplifying a few C# IEnumerator Kullanımı things, but it’s conceptually similar. If you’d like a more in depth overview of the actual mechanics, might I recommend you read this article by the incomparable Jon Skeet)
